Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees. If no air fryer preheat oven to 375 degrees or preheat 1 TBS of oil in a large skillet
Thoroughly wash and peel the jicama. Cut jicama into chunks. Place chunks in a single layer in microwave safe 2 qt dish. Pour enough water to fully cover the jicama chunks. Microwave on high 6 minutes to soften the jicama May need to do more than 1 batch
Drain the water from the jicama. Place softened jicama chunks into the chute of a food processor with the shredding side up. Do not over fill the chute. Process on high until all the jicama chunks are shredded
Pour shredded jicama in a large mixing bowl. Add all the ingredients except the cheese. Stir until fully combine and the seasonings are evenly distributed
Gradually fold in the cheese until it is fully combined and evenly distributed. Place mixture in colander and press out any excess liquid
Scoop dough out 1 TBS at a time onto a lined baking sheet and form the tots or hash browns into desired shape and size
Place tots/hash browns in single layer of air fryer drawer. Air fry at 360 for 7-10 minutes or until golden
If baking: bake at 375 for 5-10 minutes or until golden. Turn and bake another 5-10 minutes or until golden on both sides
If using stovetop: Place tots/hash browns in single layer in a large skillet. Cook in preheated oil 5-10 minutes. Turn and cook another 5-10 minutes or until golden on both sides. Serve warm with dipping sauce of choice
