Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Place green beans in a medium saucepan over medium heat. If using canned green beans make sure they are fully drained and rinsed. Heat for about 3-5 minutes or until heated through
Add butter and cream cheese. Cooke stirring frequently over medium heat until the butter and cream cheese are fully melted
Turn off the heat and add the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and mushrooms, if using. Stir to fully combine.
Transfer to a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Spread casserole evenly throughout the bottom of the dish
Sprinkle the desired amount of ham or bacon over the top. Sprinkle the desired amount of shredded cheese over the top of the ham or bacon.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted
Sprinkle the bread crumbs evenly over the top of the casserole. Bake another 5 minutes or until heated through and the bread crumbs are lightly toasted. Serve hot
