Ingredients
4cupsbeef broth
2TBSWorcestershire sauce
1/2tspblack pepper
1/2tspcrushed red pepper flakes
1tspgarlic powder
1tsponion powder
1/4tspxanthan gum or keto thickener of choice
1lbfresh deli sliced roast beef
4six-inchketo hoagie buns
sauce, vegetables and cheese of choiceI use a LITTLE barbecue sauce, baby spinach and mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Place the broth and the dry seasonings in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to a full boil. Sprinkle in the xanthan gum and whisk until the xanthan gum is FULLY dissolved. Bring back up to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 10 minutes until the broth is slightly thickened.
Add the beef. Cook for another 5 minutes or until heated through. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the bottom portion of the hoagie buns on a lined baking sheet. Spread a very light layer of the sauce of choice over bottom portion of the bun. Top the sauce with the vegetables and cheese of choice.
Top with the desired amount of warm beef. Cover with the top portion of the hoagie bun. Place in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Spoon the desired amount of broth mixture in a wide bowl. Serve the broth with the warm sandwiches.
