Ingredients
1cuproom temperature water
1/4cupliquid aminos or light soy sauce
1TBSLakanto brown monkfruit sweetener or brown sugar substitute of choice
1TBSLakanto keto maple syrup or keto maple syrup of choice
1/2tspground ginger
1/4tspgarlic powder
1/4tspxanthan gum or keto thickener of choice
2lbssirloin steak or steak of choicecan also use boneless chicken thighs if preferred
cooked vegetables, cooked keto rice or pasta substitute, optional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine all the ingredients in a medium mixing bowl except the xanthan gum and meat. Whisk until fully combined and smooth. Whisk constantly and gradually sprinkle in the xanthan gum until fully added. Continue to whisk about 30 seconds or until the xanthan gum is completely dissolved and the sauce is slightly thickened.
Place the steak or chicken into a 3 quart casserole dish. Pour the sauce over the meat. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. Place in the preheated oven. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes or until desired level of pink. If using chicken instead of steak bake for 30 minutes or until internal temperature is a least 165 degrees.
Remove the cooked meat from the oven. Allow to rest in the pan at least 5 minutes before serving. Serve this alone or with vegetables and the keto rice/pasta of choice.
