Beat on medium-low until fully combined. Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until fully combined.
Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add the HOT water. Once fully added increase speed to medium-low and beat 20 to 30 seconds or until a wet dough forms. After 15 minutes scoop the dough out 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a butter knife and shape each scoop into a circular mound. Spoon 1 TBS of the topping of choice into the center of each mound. Place the Danishes in the preheated oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the pan for 10 minutes to firm up. Transfer to a wire rack. Serve these warm or at room temperature.
