Quick Keto Chicken Gyros

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 TBS lemon juice (30 ml)
  • 2 TBS apple cider vinegar (30 ml)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 TBS dry oregano
  • 1/2 TBS salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 6 boneless chicken thighs (2 lbs)
  • 1 TBS olive oil (15ml)
  • keto tzatziki sauce
  • 6 keto naan/flatbread
  • vegetables and crumbled cheese of choice I use baby spinach, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese


  • Whisk together the Greek yogurt and dry seasonings until fully combined and smooth. you can change or adjust the seasonings according to taste. Place the chicken thighs one at a time into the marinade and turn to fully coat. Place the coated thighs into a large Ziploc bag.
  • Pour the remaining marinade into the marinade bag. Seal the bag and turn the bag to fully coat the chicken. Place the chicken in the refrigerator and marinade for at least 30 minutes before using. When ready to use, preheat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes until hot.
  • Remove the chicken from the refrigerator. use tongs to remove the chicken from the marinade and transfer to the preheat skillet. Do not over crowd. Leave space between each thigh. If needed do this in 2 batches. Cook 5 minutes or until golden on the bottom.
  • Turn the chicken and allow to cook another 5 minutes or until the chicken is cook through. The chicken should have no pink and the internal temperature should be at least 160 degrees. To assemble, Line the flatbreads with the vegetables of choice.
  • Top the vegetables with chicken (if needed cut the chicken to fit the flatbread), cheese and desired amount of tzatziki sauce. Fold flatbread over the filling and serve immediately. You can change the meat and sauce according to taste.
