If you want to have food full of flavor and variety then dry season mixes are an absolute must. You’d be surprised at the difference of taste when you substitute plain salt for seasoned salt or plain pepper for seasoned pepper. It may not sound like much but trust me it makes a difference.

One of the many problems with buying seasoning mixes at the store is,they can get expensive. It may not seem like it at first, but if you’re paying 3 or more dollars for a tiny jar of mixed seasonings after a while the price starts adding up. Especially, when that little jar is gone after just a few uses.

Another problem is you don’t always know everything that’s in those prepackaged seasonings. A lot of times there’s more filler in those packages than there is flavor.

Why Make Your Own Dry Seasonings

Making your own seasoning mixes at home has many benefits. First off you not only save money but you know exactly what is in your mixes. You can also personalize them to any flavors you want. When you buy ready made mixes you’re limited to whatever flavors the company offers but when you make your own you can make endless varieties of flavors. Homemade seasoning mixes are quick, easy and convenient.

My 3 Favorite Dry Seasoning Mixes

In my kitchen there are 3 dry seasoning mixes that I absolutely can not be without, seasoned salt. seasoned pepper, and dry Italian seasoning. These 3 mixes are my lifelines when it comes to flavor in my food. I can get by without other seasonings but without these three I am lost.

Seasoned Salt Mix

First, there is seasoned salt. The price of a tiny little container of seasoned salt is ridiculous. Especially when you consider that it will be gone in a matter of days. Why should you pay for a tiny thing of seasoned salt when you can make your own for half the price.

So you’re probably thinking ok tell us what to do . Well to make seasoned salt all you need to do is whisk together salt and your favorite seasonings

After you whisk all the ingredients together store it in a spice container and there you have it DIY seasoned salt
